63, of Indianapolis, departed this life, peacefully, after lengthy illnesses on Monday, August 22, 2016 at his home. He was born November 12, 1952 in Indianapolis to the late John Augustus and Lillian Rose (McHenry) Carlin. Jim worked as a physical therapy technician for over 31 years at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He loved having conversations with his family members and friends. He liked reading and watching science fiction. His favorites were Star Wars, Star Trek and Dr. Who. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Cathy W. Carlin and his loving daughter, Genna Carlin, MD. Private services will be held.
