
James Edward Flowers 63 Of Kokomo Passed away on November 28, 2010 at Howard Regional Health Systems. James Edward Flowers, Jr. was born on September 11, 1947 the son of James Edward Flowers, Sr. and Mattie Louise Ferguson Flowers in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
He was an assembler for Haynes International. He was a member of Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, the VFW, American Legion Post #177 and Department of Veteran Affairs
He was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and spent two stints. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sharpshooter and the Purple Heart Medal.
His father preceded him in death.
He is survived by his mother, Mattie Louise Flowers, three aunts, Mary Andrews of Guthrie, Kentucky, Anner Joe Johnson (E.J.), Martha Childs (Aaron) of Flint, Michigan, uncle, Ed Flowers, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, New York and a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010, 1 P.M. at Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Pastor Louis Parham will be the officiant & eulogist. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Bluitt & Son Funeral Home.
