James Arthur Hill

James Arthur Hill a life long resident of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on February 16, 2026. Jim who was born on August 8, 1960 was an Eagle Boy Scout, and a proud graduate of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and Purdue University.

Jim’s hobbies were playing the guitar and he was an accomplished, active photographer. Since High School he worked as a Horticulturalist and liked nothing better then helping his family with gardening and landscaping. He was generous with his time and talents and dedicated to doing his best.

Jim was predeceased by his grandparents, his father and mother Ralph M. and Kathryn Welch Hill, his step father Bernard Monbouquette and his favorite nephew Patrick M. Hill.

Jim is survived by his sister Mary Ellen Hill, his brothers Marty and Mike and Mike’s very special friend Sheila Purtill.

Jim’s funeral Mass will take place on February 25, 2026 at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery located at 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240.

The calling will take place beginning at 10:00 am and the Mass around 11:00 am.

Donations may be made to the Indianapolis Zoological Society or the Boy Scouts of America/Crossroads Council in memory of Jim’s favorite nephew Patrick Michael Hill.
