81, of Indianapolis, departed this life April 10, 2016. Dr. Moran was born June 16, 1934 in Indianapolis to the late William E. and Mary (O’Brien) Moran. He was a 1952 graduate of Cathedral High School and then earned his DDS from the Indiana School of Dentistry in 1958. He owned his orthodontics practice for over 50 years, and was well respected for his enthusiasm for life, kindness and sense of humor. For over 20 years, Dr. Moran was the man who set up a homemade drum kit in Pan American Plaza before every Colts home game and pounded, rhythmically, for two hours straight, stopping only to shout: "Go Colts!" or "Go Horse!" Through drumming, he enjoyed teaching youth a means of redirecting their feelings. He is survived by his loving daughters, Ellen M. (Andrew) Ahlers, Lynn M. Williams and Jennifer D. (Cliff) Fiscus; sister, Maryann Moran; brothers, Dr. William (Mary Beth) Moran, Dr. Thomas (Thelma) Moran and Michael (Paula) Moran; six grandchildren and a host of grateful patients, and Colts fans over the years. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, April 13th at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 14th at St. Pius X Catholic Church with additional calling beginning there at 10:00 am.
