Janina Stygar

91, of Munster Indiana was embraced by the arms of the Lord April 23, 2016.

Born in Poland 8/13/24, she married the love of her life. They endured the hardships of war and work camps and were set free when the war ended.

She lost her first born son at birth. Unsure if she could have any more children, they welcomed a daughter before coming to America in 1950.

A determined and hardworking soul, she passed the GED and earned her LPN at the age of 53. She truly enjoyed her calling, loved everyone and worked as an LPN until she was 79 years old.

She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Boleslaw Stygar and her first born son. Janina is survived by her three children Janina Farrell, William Stygar, and Brigida Adamson, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Hennessy Nowak Funeral Home in Calumet City, Illinois Friday from 9-10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St Andrew the Apostle Parish in Calumet City, Illinois.
