JEANETTE received her education in the Bronx Public School System while living in New York and attending Public School #63. She graduated from Morris High School also located in
Bronx, New York. Jeanette decided to further her education by attending Parkland College.
JEANETTE grew up in the South Bronx and as a child relocated to Champaign, Illinois later in life where on April 1, 1977, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Rufus Kersh. To this union
five children were born and one child was fostered.
JEANETTE was employed by Urban League for 25 years retiring in the Champaign community. She loved her family and
was a lover of people. She was also a believer of God and loved the Lord. Jeanette was a fun-loving person who enjoyed
entertaining, dancing, and going to the Casino.
JEANETTE JACKSON KERSH passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at the age of 60 years, 3 months, and 2 days. She was preceded in death by her father, James Bruce Jackson;brother, Willie James Jackson; sisters, Ethel Rodriguez and Annie Foreman.
JEANETTE is survived by two sons, Rufus Kersh, III and Rolando Kersh; four daughters, Felicia Jackson, Tormeka
Foreman, Shamora Kersh, and Kame Ko Kersh; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Lessie Mae Jackson; brothers, Harold Jackson, Willie Ray Jackson, and Mickey Jackson; sister, Linda Williamson; sister-in-law, Helen Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends.
