

Jeanne Ann Ferruzza, longtime resident of Indianapolis, died after a long illness on August 31, 2018. She was born Jeanne Ann Walters to Vernon Walters and Virginia Knowles Walters in Dayton, Ohio on September 7, 1930 and raised by her maternal grandparents -- Clarence and Jessie Knowles -- in Richmond, Indiana. She attended Kingswood School Cranbrook in Michigan and Indiana University. She married Michael J. Ferruzza in 1957 while she was working as catering manager for Brody's Restaurant. After giving up her career to become a mother and homemaker, Jeanne Ann returned to the work force in the 1980s to oversee operations at her family's longtime business -- Knowles Tool Company -- in Richmond, Indiana. She continued to work there until the company stopped operations in 2001. She continued to live in her home town of Richmond, Indiana where she participated in many philanthropic activities in that community until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2005.
Jeanne Ann is survived by her sister, Sara Grimm Eastman and her four children: Charles John Ferruzza of Kansas City; Michael Joseph Ferruzza of Indianapolis; Mary Knowles Wachtel (Dan) of Los Angeles; and Christopher Paul Ferruzza (Kristina) of Indianapolis and two granddaughters: Jessica Ferruzza and Isabella Grace Wachtel.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association of Indianapolis.
