I met jen through Mary Byrne and visited with her a few times while she was at Methodist Hospital.  I was picked to ride for The Five Points of LIfe bike team to talk to people across America about the importance of organ donation.  She instantly was interested in being a sponsor for my trip.   I am so grateful for the chance to meet such a beautiful person.  I will remember her forever.

Jennifer was the bravest person I have ever met.   She never let the disease keep her down.   I remember when she discovered that she could no longer play the violin..  she said, I'll learn to play the cello.  She did and was part of the orchestra.   She was an example to all. She is missed

I just heard today of Jen's passing. I'm so sorry I couldn't be at her visitation or funeral.  My sympathies to Jen's family and many dear friends.   Although I met Jen as a doctor, she quickly became a friend--as she was to everyone she met.  Jen was certainly one of  kind with an unrivaled zest for life and the most positive outlook of anyone I've ever met.  Her infectious smile always brightened my day and every time I saw her she shared another special memory--a trip, an Olympics, a mini-marathon, a cello concert.  Her life story is an inspiration.  If I learned anything from Jen, it's  "YOLO" (you only live once.)  Onward!  I'll miss you, Jen.

Jen was a patient in our dental office for years. She was the sweetest. most positive and optimistic person I’ve ever known. We followed the ups and downs of her battle with CF. We talked about my daughter, who is an NP.  During one of her stays at CHN she recognized my daughter, who worked with one of her surgeons, from a picture I had at my work. She noticed everything. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Jen was not only family, but my friend.  She was a kind soul who loved to laugh and embraced every single day.  Jen was also fierce and overcame most any obstacle that got in her way. I remember meeting Jen at church youth group around 1988. She was such a light and that smile lit up every room. I can still hear her laugh and I haven't seen her in person in 30 years. Her overwhelmingly positive attitude and incredible resilience through more adversity than most of us will ever experience, has been a constant inspiration. Her influence clearly reverberates across years and miles to anyone who has been fortunate enough to cross paths with her. I'm grateful for Jen's life and the gift of God she's been to this world. I know she's enjoying her reward and lighting up heaven the same way.

I borrowed this photo from someone else on here because it reminds me most of how I remember Jen. 
While growing up with Cystic Fibrosis, I only knew one other person with CF, Jen. It was a unique friendship because we could do sleepovers. During the late 70s/early 80s, the primary daily treatment for children with CD was postural drainage—- a lengthy process of chest percussion (‘clapping’) and vibration while simultaneously placing the patient in various positions to use gravity to move mucus from the smaller airways to the larger airways, clearing the lungs, improving breathing and reducing the risk of infection. 
Our moms knew well how to do that process and my friendship with Jen bloomed over our moms planning sleepovers giving each other breaks in caregiving. 
I treasured our fun times— where we got to be silly goofy little girls without a care in the world, sleeping on her sofa bed, playing games and watching movies. 
 She was so tiny even then, but larger than life! My mom would keep me in the loop whenever she ran into Jen’s mom as to how Jen was faring. She’s going to law school, she’s so talented, she lives downtown, etc 
It wasn’t until I was going through pulmonary rehab in 2010ish  that I was telling the RT about my old friend Jen— how we lost touch, but I always think of her and wonder if she’s still around. The therapist and nurse were all smiles, nearly exploding trying to avoid a HIPAA violation, lol. Towards the end of my session, Jen walks through the door. I was near tears to see her there, smiling, so happy and doing remarkably well post transplant number one. 
We never lost touch after that. Jen was such in icon in the CF and transplant community, such a kind and strong woman. I’m heartbroken at the loss of this amazing woman. Rest in Heaven, Jen. My condolences and prayers for your cherished loved ones.

I wish I would being seeing all and participate in honoring the beautiful, brave, inspiring life of Jen. But distance and age prevents it.  (She is Jennifer to me) I met her when she was 8 years old when I loved her at CF Camp, 'mothered' her when she went to Bradley University and have been a lifelong cheerleader and friend, as well as a Weber Walker. To know her was to know hope and an unmatched zest for life.

"Appreciate all you do and your thoughtfulness in tackling so much around CF." 

One would think this was directed at Jen. One would be wrong. This was one of the last messages Jen sent me. I was dumbfounded. Jen epitomized all of this and more. I turned to Jen when I needed a gut check. In my role at the CF Foundation, I work on how specialized CF care can be improved - acknowledging the agency of the person living w/ CF. Jen helped me understand that her friends and family - a group she cultivated early and consistently - was her engine. Her life was one well lived and I grieve her absence in the life the rest of us get to live. Onward.

We started this week with heavy hearts at the loss of our beloved Jen 💔
She fought the good fight and lived life to the fullest. Her zest for life was contagious and her smile could light up any room. I don't remember Jen with a sad heart that hurts from losing her, I think of her as joy, and laughter, and always with a smile. Her cello as big as her and trying to see how she was doing in the backseat, as we drove to the NWMF in Middleton. She was bundled up in a hoodie...with blankets...and a pillow...and the seat heater on 😉  I'll cherish the wonderful memories of Jen and she'll be my Shero forever ❤️

I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. Jen’s life was a remarkable testament to resilience, courage, and generosity of spirit. She gave so much to the CF community with both hands and with a heart full of warmth, gratitude, and joy. She touched everyone who knew her and will be remembered for the meaningful difference she made in the lives of others with CF. Please know that my thoughts are with you and all who loved her. May her extraordinary spirit continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Jen was small in size but a giant in living life to the fullest. She was a shining example to all of us on how to live this one and only, beautiful, imperfect, messy, magnificent life. She learned early on, that for her, living wouldn’t come easily, so she was determined to make the most of every single day. She was incredibly wise, grateful, courageous, fun-loving, joyful, optimistic, thoughtful, and caring. All who met her benefited from the many simple and precious gifts of time and advice and support she so readily shared. I will be forever grateful to her for helping my wife Lori live the best she could through the last months of her life. What a blessing Jen was to both of us. 

I hope, Jen Weber, that you know how much you were loved, that you knew what a big ripple you made in this world, and that you are soaring freely into some great new adventure you so rightfully deserve.

Jen. What an amazingly resilient woman.

Jen found me on Facebook in a Duke Transplant Group as she was preparing to embark on her third lung transplant and temporarily relocate to Durham. She noticed that I was also from Indy and had previously relocated there for my own lung transplant at Duke (10/2021–4/2022).

We connected before her move, and I was happy to share everything I had learned—from Duke recommendations to the little things that can make such a difficult journey feel a bit less overwhelming. By the time she arrived in Durham, I had already moved back home to Indy, but I made it a point to check in with her often and meet up with her whenever I returned to Duke for follow-up appointments.

What I remember most about Jen was her strength, courage, determination, and sense of humor. Facing a third transplant is something most people cannot even imagine, yet she continued moving forward with grace, resilience, and laughter. She was funny, and we shared a similar sense of humor that made every conversation a little brighter.

I feel grateful that our paths crossed and that I had the opportunity to know her. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

Everyone wanted to be Jen‘s friend!  She was kind, generous, thoughtful, talented, bright, witty, humble, and adventurous.   I am grateful, honored, and blessed to have been her friend for over 30 years.  Jen, Patty, and I  (Cindy) never had to decide where to go to dinner… It was ALWAYS sushi.  We even took a sushi.-making class.  Her culinary creativity and skills excelled in 2020, but I remember how she started in the kitchen… reading the oven manual to learn how to warm up Totino‘s pizza rolls for her nephew’s visit. 
The fond memories are countless.  I’m so thankful I got to be her friend.!

Even though petite in size, her personality was larger than life… And I do mean that literally. I am forever grateful that I got to meet Jen Weber and call her a friend. Her talents were immense… she even played the cello in the symphony and the instrument was physically bigger than she was. But again, nothing stopped Jen from pursuing her dreams. Thank you, Jen, for entering my life, and I'll never forget you and your positive reflection on everyone that you met!

It's always a joy when special people come into your life and make an impact. Jen Weber leaves a profound legacy: She taught us what it's like to have courage, determination and resilience. She inspired us to always strive for the next level and not give in to adversity. She did YOLO to perfection. Years ago, when I got a new iPhone, Jen introduced me to Words With Friends, and we played often.The last game we had going was in early June, and because she stopped playing, the game "timed out." Jen's spirit will always live on in those who loved her. She isn't gone, she is merely timed out. RIH Jen Warrior!

In two words, Jen was a SPUNKADOODLE FORCE! She carried herself through this world with a positivity and determination that will forever go unmatched! Her spunk and humor shined through even the toughest times. She named her beloved cats after comedians (Lily after Lily Tomlin and Wally after Walter Mathau).  When she had to rehome the cats because the allergens became too much for her lungs, she made sure they went to a dear friend who would give them their best life, and continued to visit them for all of their sake. When she couldn't have kitties anymore, Jen adopted her heart dog and gave him the strong name of DUKE, naming him after the transplant center at which she received her third set of lungs.  As fate would have it, Duke was ready to be adopted exactly when Jen's transplant was to take place. My wife Leila and I had the gift of fostering Duke until Jen got home. She later told me that knowing Duke was waiting for her helped her to survive and recover from surgery. Jen and Duke were meant for one another: both determined, playful, loving, fun. Simply put, both SPUNKADOODLE FORCES.

One of my most indelible memories, for which I am eternally grateful to Jen, was when my beloved wife suddenly advanced in her dementia, and I realized she could never be left alone again and I needed help immediately. I called Jen. She said "I'm on it." Within hours she had lined up friends to serve as caregivers while I went to work, until we could come up with a more permanent plan. 
Jen was always willing and CAPABLE and eager to help, and did so with grace and loving kindness and a lot of humor!
I treasure Jen Weber and will miss her forever.

I am sure Jennifer was as loved in her professional world as much as she was in the musical world and her strength inspired all who knew her. Jen, we so much wish we'd recorded your hilarious "Cooking With Jen" stories.

Jen was a light to everyone around her. As a member of what she called her "A team," I feel so blessed to have known her. She LIVED her life grabbing every opportunity with both hands and living fully without fear and with joy.  Surely there were days when her chronic illness felt overwhelming, but you'd never know.  She had a smile on her face for everyone and always gave more to others than we gave to her. She's one in a million, billion, and her legacy will live on forever.

I had such an amazing time getting to know Jen at the 2016 Transplant games! She welcomed me with open arms and we had a great deal of fun bowling. She was a great friend to all and will be severely missed. Sending many hugs and prayers to her family!

Such a shining star, a true warrior and inspiration. Jen never complained, she just accepted life as it was given and lived it loud! We loved her attending our family events and I loved our lunches and visits to mom…I will miss Jen but wiil cherish my sweet memories. Till we meet again  my friend.

There are too many memories to select just one to celebrate the amazing Jennifer Weber. She was kind, thoughtful, whip-smart, and a little bit mischievous. The published obituary does not truly represent her amazing accomplishments: friend, musician, attorney, board member, visionary and fundraiser. How she found time to do anything else, it’s hard to imagine. When she was confined to the house, she took up cooking with a vengeance. Amidst the sturm and drang of an ordinary life, Jen navigated the medical issues with unending optimism and wit. She was indefatigable, a bright light, like the sun, we will sorely miss her light and warmth.

I am so sorry for the loss of Jen. She was a wonderful woman. I remember that she met my Daughter Crystal and I through Pastor Mike Mather. She also met us at the hospital the night Crystal had her double lung transplant. She had had her 1st transplant a couple of weeks before and was still healing herself. She was such a good friend to my Daughter. I am grateful for her presence in our lives.  I pray for healing for her family and friends.

Jen was an inspiration to me my entire life. Growing up, she taught me how to be resilient and independent. She accomplished so much in this lifetime and I will forever be in awe of who she was and what she was able to do. From watching her run the Olympic torch, to seeing her play the cello, to grabbing a beer at a local brewery. Her love for life is unmatched. I will miss you.
