

78, of Indianapolis, passed away May 10, 2012. Jerry was born April 1, 1934 to Mildred and Ernest Stanley. He attended Purdue University and then enlisted in the United States Army. Jerry had worked for Wright Oil Company and then owned and operated Stanley Heating and Air Conditioning Company. He retired as a driver for Central Transportation. Jerry was a very dedicated member of Epworth United Methodist Church. His life was considerably impacted by a mission trip to Africa. He often volunteered to help with church repairs and maintenance, and also enjoyed his involvement with the choir and Sunday school. Jerry was also a faithful blood donor. He was a true family man who loved boating and water skiing at Cataract Lake, along with his many family vacation adventures over the years. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-one years, Eleanor S. “Ellie” Stanley; daughters, Janene (Keith) Hanauer and Jill (Paul) Griffin; grandsons, Matthew and Sean Hanauer and brother, Ronald Stanley. Jerry was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Stanley and the family dog, Penny. Visitation for Jerry will be from 4 - 8 PM Friday, May 18, 2012 at Epworth United Methodist Church (6450 Allisonville Road). A memorial service will be held at the church on Saturday, May 19th at 2:00 PM with additional calling there beginning at 1:00 PM.
