Jerome Henderson

Jerome was born October 29, 1929 in Richmond, IN to the late Cornelius Henderson and Genevieve

Williams. He departed this life on May 13, 2016. He was graduate of Richmond High School in

Richmond, IN.

At the age of 21 he married Beverly McConnell, his high school sweetheart! He was a husband and

father, providing for his family as a postman for many years.

He had a loud, hearty, infectious laugh. To his family Jerome could be stern as well as fun loving. He

was also generous and would give you the shirt off his back. If Dad had it and you needed it, it was

yours . At 4:00 each afternoon, you could find him in front of the television watching “Judge Judy”.

Some of his most cherished moments were spent with his family and time spent with his grandchildren

having a special relationship and bond with each and every single one!!

Jerome leaves to cherish his memory: children; Sharon Scott, Judith McCrary, Kevin Henderson (Peggy),

Jerra Henderson, Jana Williams, and Steven Henderson (Lamia); 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grand

children, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Siblings, Betty Stanton and Delores Spears; and a host of

other family members and friends.
