

Jerry Lee Graves was born on November 8, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Leonard Graves and Mamie Lee Ross-Harris. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools #23 and #17 and later graduated from Crispus Attucks High School.
At an early age, Jerry professed his hope in Christ at Metropolitan Baptist Church, laying the foundation for a life rooted in faith.
Jerry bravely served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969, receiving an honorable discharge for his dedicated service. Following his military career, he worked for various construction companies throughout Indiana until his retirement in 1999.
Jerry was united in marriage to Annie Marie Nichols, and to this union one son was born, Jerry Lee Graves Jr.
He had a deep love for family and cherished gatherings, often visiting loved ones and filling every room with laughter. Known as the family comedian, Jerry had a gift for lifting spirits and bringing joy, no matter the circumstance. He was passionate about sports, especially enjoying watching his son play football. Jerry also treasured time spent with friends, whether at motorcycle clubs or at the old guy's neighborhood gathering spot on the parking lot next door to his home.
A fun-loving man with a generous heart, Jerry’s humor and warmth touched everyone who knew him.
Jerry Lee Graves was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Doralena Minter and Edith Brewer; his two grandchildren, Jerry Lee Graves III and Mia Graves; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Marie Graves; his son, Jerry Lee Graves Jr.; his parents; his sisters Dorothy Porter, Marie Jones, Rose Gaither, Barbara Adams, Francis Wooden, Lena Graves, and Wendy Graves; and his brothers George Graves and Leonard Graves Jr.
Visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, US, on April 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, US, on April 10, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
