

77, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 10, 2015. He was born December 29, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Robert E. and Mary F. Jett. Jerry retired in 1999 from Rexnord Roller Chain, formerly FMC Link-Belt, as a purchasing agent after 35 years. Jerry was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church for 45 years and served in the U.S. Air Force and a 1955 graduate of Cathedral H.S. before going on the attend Indiana University. Jerry and his wife, Jean (Porten) Jett were married on November 20, 1965 at St. Christopher Catholic Church. As a young man, he swam with the neighborhood community center swim team with many achievements. Jerry also enjoyed playing golf on a work league, and on weekends, before suffering a mild stroke in 2002. He spent a lot of time coaching his children in intermural basketball and at Community Little League, where he was president for a time. Along with many more family and friends, he will be greatly missed and never forgotten for constantly giving his love in return to whoever crossed his path. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Jean (Porten) Jett, daughter: Jessica (Joe) Hornett, son: Jeremiah, sister: Judith (Joe) Williams and 5 beautiful grandchildren: Erin (Adam) Cole, Emily (Jake) Yardy, Megan Jett, Jocelyn and JoJo Hornett and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at Feeny-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary and 10:00 am – 11:00 am Monday, February 16, at Little Flower Catholic Church (4720 East 13th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201). Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 16, at 11:00 am in Little Flower Catholic Church.
