Jerry Edward Wilson

Jerry was born on May 25, 1953 in Franklin, IN. He grew up in Edinburgh, IN and moved with his family to Indianapolis in 2004. Jerry graduated from Franklin College with a BA in Biology and got his MA in Education from Purdue University.

Jerry was married to his wife, Donna, who preceded him in death, for 24 years. They have two children, Aaron Wilson, 37, and Shana McKinney, 35. Jerry was also the pappaw to Nora, 3, Elliot, 3, and Emory, 5 months.

Jerry was a retired middle school science teacher. He loved science, technology, journalism, and photography. He was an active member of the Freedom from Religion foundation and described himself as “a progressive liberal who votes for science and social freedoms.”

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Jerry is survived by his mother, Catherine Wilson, his four brothers, Rick Wilson, Robert Wilson, Greg Wilson, and Kenny Wilson, and his sister, Darlene Harden. He was preceded in death by his father, Bryant Wilson.

Jerry will be cremated and his remains buried beside his wife in Edinburgh, IN. There will be no official funeral or viewing. In lieu of flowers, his family asks for donations to the Diabetes Foundation.
