JoAnn Crain

JoAnn gave her life to Christ at an early age at Barnes United Methodist Church. She graduated in 1962,

from Shortridge High School, in Indianapolis, IN. JoAnn also married TJ Crain in 1962.

JoAnn was employed by Western Electric, after retirement she decided to go back to school, where she received her beautician license in 1984.

“Jo” as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, because to know her, you will love her! She would pick up the youth in the neighborhood, nephews, nieces and take them to church. In many ways she was a beautiful example of service.

“Jo” is preceded to the afterlife by her parents Rev. Robert and Waneda Baker, sister Linda Hawkins and brother Robert Baker.

Remembrance of her love will always be with her loving husband of 62 years, TJ Crain, her sons; James (Sandy) Crain, Darryl Crain, Lester (Suzanne) Crain, brother Albert (Teresa) Baker, sisters; Jenetta Moore, Judy (Michael) Thomas, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of family members, and friends

A visitation for JoAnn will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
