

Joann received her early education and High School graduate degree from Saint Mary Catholic School. She also attended Indiana Business School achieving many certificates in business accounting.
Joann professed and was Baptized into the Catholic faith at an early age. Her life- long faith devoted to Saint Bridget's Catholic Church.
Joann was employed by the United States Post Office. After thirty years of service she retired.
Joann met and married her friend Mr. Neal Thomas Jr. who became her loving husband on Sept. 2 1989. He proceeds her in death.
Joann belonged to several Charities & Organizations which brought her much joy during her retirement.
She was a member of the Catholic Altar Society, Saint Vincent de Paul, The Flanner House, & The Saint Bridget's Choir.
Joann had many hobbies, she enjoyed staying active in the church activities, bowling with her husband, decorating with arts & crafts, & going to the thrifts shops.
She also loved to travel along with her love of gospel and r&b tunes.
Joann also loved her soap operas, and made it known to all do NOT CALL while the show was on. Her favorite was The Young & The Restless.
Joann is proceeded in death by both parents, her husband Neal Thomas Jr., brothers: John Gaither Sr.,William Gaither, and Eddie Gaither and sister, Sylvia Gaither Morrison
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, nephews: Michael Gaither, step-nephew, Charles Johnson Sr., nieces: Joan Bundrant, Michille Jimison (Wilfred), Shari Gaither-Garrett, Darquita Duncan, Marquita Glass (William),April Gaither, and step- niece,Taffie Jones; caregiver & sister in law, love and Christ, Janet L. Gaither and a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins & friends.
Though Joann may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever echo in our hearts & remind us to cherish each moment, to hold on to the bonds of family, true friends and loved ones in this journey of life.
May the memory of Mrs, Joann E. Gaither Thomas bring you comfort and peace today & always.
