Joe Carlton

67, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away May 30, 2019. Joe was born on March 10, 1952 in Marion, Ohio to Lloyd Carlton and Jessie Carlton (VanHook). Joe enjoyed driving his semi and spending time with his family. The Indianapolis Speedrome was Joe’s second home. Many friends and fans referred to his as “Smokin Joe Carlton”. He loved to spend time with his grandkids. You could always find Joe in his garage or outside tinkering on things. Joe is survived his companion; Ida Tucker, mother; Jessie Cox, sons; Anthony Carlton and Robert Johnson, daughters; Glenda Carlton, Jackie Carlton, Tanya Tucker, and Judy Tucker, sisters; Ethel Pill and Jeanie Jones. Joe is also survived by his grandchildren; Bryan, Jordan, Dillon, Brandon, Anthony, Jennifer, Alissa, Briana, Bradley, Brooklyn, Kayla, Timothy, Kaytlin, Dalton, Wayne, Tyler, Diesel, Gage, Mary, Chellssie and Shayne. Great grandchildren; Tanner, Eli, Kaylan and Uhlaiylia. Joe is preceded in death by his father; Lloyd Carlton, daughters; Jennifer and Stacie Carlton and brothers; Barnie and Doug Carlton. Visitation for Joe will be held on Tuesday, June 4, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Family Funeral Care. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5, at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home.
