John Samuel Collins, Jr.

John Samuel Collins, Jr. 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 28, 2021. John was born October 16, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. He worked in sales at Parker GMC for many years and later with Meijer Stores in loss prevention. John served in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 - 1954, lifetime member of the American Legion Post #331 of Brownsburg and the DAV. John was the father of eleven children and is survived by nine children: John Samuel Collins, III, Elizabeth Spencer, Penelopea Banich, Pamela Ard, David Collins, Mary Scales, Michael Collins, Jason Collins and Jonathan Collins and a brother: Thomas Collins. He leaves 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, in-laws, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his son: Christopher Collins and a daughter: Patricia Tumey. Funeral services for John will be held on Friday, March 5, 1:00 pm at Family Funeral Care with visitation from 12:00 pm until time of service. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in the Field of Valor.
