John Patrick Compton was born February 4, 1963, in Indianapolis, IN. He passed on March 4, 2023, from cancer. He is the son of Charles R. and Ruby E. Compton. He is survived by both parents, brothers Charles (Charla), Tom(Nancy), and Steve(Kris), one sister Elizabeth(Derrick), and nephews and niece. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Elementary and Chatard High School, class of ’81, before attending IUPUI where he received his Mechanical Engineering degree. After working in the engineering field for nearly ten years, he decided to change careers. He attended Texas Woman’s University College of Nursing where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Upon graduation, he worked primarily as an ICU nurse for the past twenty-three years at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. John enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, and rescuing dogs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 5692 N Central Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, 46220 at 1:00PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
