There is just too much to say about John for this page. However , I will always remember our slow dances on the front porch late at night while listening to his favorite songs. We laughed , we cried, we argued , we sang and just shared our deepest thoughts with each other. He told me he was " The Mayor of Irvington " and his abode was "Tater Rock Manor". That always brings a smile to my face. But most of all...He was my best friend and I'll miss our coffee talks each morning very much. You were and are loved by many John.

John and I shared classes at Little Flower grade school and at Scecina Memorial High School. John was always kind and considerate towards me.
Back in 1987 after living in various states, I began working at Community East Hospital. One day as I was walking down a hallway I saw a familiar face! John greeted me and made me feel “at home” again. It was always good to see him there. He will be greatly missed by many.

I met John the day after I buried my mother. What a conversation that was! And now the world feels a little sadder and a bit dimmer. Prayers for peace and comfort are being said for John’s family and friends. Rest in peace, my friend.

I went to X-Ray school with John for two years and what a character he was. We lost touch after that, but I often think about many of my classmates and wonder how things turned out for them. John was one of those, and in reading his facebook page, it's obvious from all the outpouring of love for him that he led a great life and cared deeply for family and friends. My condolences to all those mourning his loss.

John made a Sarah McLaughlin CD for me, years ago . He cared about and for everyone! He and I were just swapping movie suggestions. I am proud to have been his friend.

See you down the road John,

John knew how much I love Van Morrison. I was at work one day at the barbershop and he came in and had made me a Van Morrison CD. He said I promise you there are some songs on there that you probably never heard. He was right. That's the best CD ever. I misplaced it a few months back but then I found it thank goodness because I love that CD. Thank you so much John. May you r i p

I have known John for 52 years. He was funny, charming, creative, cynical, and a mixed bag of emotions all wrapped up into one. A fierce protector of women. Loved a good debate. Rest in Everlasting Peace My Friend.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family

When I first met John he was about 10 yrs old. He was so cute and as funny and clever as could be. Esther always said “don’t laugh at him it makes him worse”. I couldn’t help it he was adorable. I loved his writings, his passion and worried about him numerous times as he was so sensitive and on the edge. When his brother Chuck died he was devastated as he was loosing the rest of his brothers and parents. This was a lot for anyone to deal with . We all will miss him. Vicki Henn Liedell
