John "Doug" Douglas Ingersoll

John "Doug" Douglas Ingersoll, age 72, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away in his home on Monday, June 20, 2022. Doug was born on September 23, 1949 to the late Janet Hammond and Joseph Ingersoll. His passions were playing the guitar, bowling, billiards, playing basketball with his sons and being the best papaw to his three grandchildren. Family traditions that will live on in his memory include annual trips to the State Fair, Family day at Eagle Creek Park and his famous cheeseball at family gatherings. He is survived by his four sons: Joe (Melissa) Ingersoll, Matt Ingersoll, Dan Ingersoll, Patrick Ingersoll and three grandchildren: Ava Ingersoll, Mia Ingersoll, and Jackson Ingersoll, and his sister Vicki (David) Kelley as well as their children. A private gathering of close friends and family will be held on July 3rd from 2:00pm-4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's honor to the American Cancer Society.
