John was born on June 17th,1965 to Richard and Eleanor McCalley, the youngest of twelve siblings.
John graduated from Bishop Chatard High School and spent two years at Butler University. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard where he had four happy years saving lives off the coast of Oregon. He was a family man, first and foremost. He loved spending time with his children, grandchild, wife, and extremely large family. Quick with a joke and a laugh, he will be remembered as a man who brightened everyone’s day.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; his daughter, Erica McCalley; his son, Jason (wife: Kendra) McCalley; his stepchildren, JC Bruckmann, Nikki Bruckmann and Grace Bruckmann; his granddaughter, Remington McCalley; and his siblings, Tom McCalley, Tim McCalley, Peggy McCullough, Jeannie TeKolste, Andrea Perkins, Patty Roach, Joe McCalley, Kevin McCalley, Chris McCalley, and Mary Myers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Eleanora, and his sister, Catherine Barney.
A visitation for John will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219. A Celebration of Life service and an Irish Wake will immediately follow at 5:00 PM.
