John Michael Peer

61, of Mooresville, passed away on August 20, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. John was born on February 15, 1959 in Rockwood, Tennessee the son of the late John H. and Patsy Peer. John worked in telecommunications with AT&T for 25 years, retiring in 2015. He continued to work in telecommunications after retirement with Homeland Security for 2 years (2016-2018) and then with the Department of Defense for 2 years (2018-2020) living in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was also a Navy Veteran. John is survived by his wife; Robyn Peer, children; Jessica (Randy) Peterman, John (Alicia) Peer, Kelsey (David) Riveria-Perez, Kristin (Mark) Lane, Stephen (Becca) Boone and Austin (Alyssa) Boone, sisters; Donita (Scott) Coffell and Melissa Hartsell and grandchildren; Abigal and Evelyn Peterman, Isabella and Landon Peer, Gabriel, Benjamin and Daniel Riveria-Perez, Jakk and Eleanor Lane and Joseph and Adalynn Boone. Private service will held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions for John should be made to the American Heart Association.
