John William Reichle III, DDS, age 72, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026 in Indianapolis. Born on August 28, 1953, in Connersville, Indiana John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara Reichle of Connersville. He is survived by his son, Adam Reichle of Indianapolis and his wife Shelby; his daughter, Lindsey Reichle of St. Louis and her husband Carlos Miller; his sister, Ann Shedlak of Bloomington and her husband Curt; his niece, Megan Jefferson of Oklahoma City and her husband Ricky; and his nephew, Craig Shedlak of Indianapolis. He also shared 23 years of marriage with Brenda Ullery, with whom he raised his two beloved children. Though they divorced, John and Brenda remained close friends and supportive partners in parenthood throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, John earned both his undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees there. He returned home to Connersville to practice dentistry alongside his father, eventually taking over the family practice and continuing a legacy of compassionate care in the community. He met his wife, built his career, served in various community service roles, and raised his family in Connersville before spending the last nearly 20 years of his life in Indianapolis.
John was a man of wide-ranging interests and deep enthusiasm. He found peace and inspiration in nature, often traveling to capture its beauty through landscape photography. As a devoted Indiana University alumnus, he rarely missed an opportunity to watch, debate, or attend IU basketball and football games. Music was another great joy in his life. He especially loved attending concerts with friends and family, most notably following the Dave Matthews Band across the country — attending more than 50 shows with his son Adam alone.
John also had a lifelong curiosity about wildlife, particularly snakes, and was known for enthusiastically sharing fascinating snake facts with anyone willing to listen.
Above all, John’s proudest and most cherished role was that of father. Nothing brought him greater joy than cheering on his children in all their pursuits. His unwavering encouragement and love will remain a lasting gift in their lives
John’s life will be celebrated on Friday, February 27, at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Friends and family may gather from 1:00 to 2:00 PM to pay their respects, with an informal memorial service to follow at approximately 2:00 PM.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
