

Johnnie Lee Watts, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 3, 2024. John was born in Purcell, Oklahoma to Howard and Thelma Watts. He served in the US Air Force for four years. He spent most of his career working in Construction. He was a proud member of the IUOE (International Union of Operating Engineers) Local 103 from 1961-1996. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was a gifted mechanic who was always there to help others. He enjoyed target practice, hunting, camping and sitting in his backyard enjoying nature. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Jacki Watts, his four children from his first wife Marcia Anne Meyer: William (Phyllis) Watts, Susan (Mike) Shick, Thomas Watts and Lisa Watts, Jacki's children: Kris and (Mike) Smiley, Kari Ware (Blaise Williamson), Grandchildren: Aaron (Mollie) Shick, Samuel Watts, Olivia Ware, Michael Smiley and Marissa Smiley, Great Grandchildren: Hazel and Cora Shick. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him and all that knew him.
A visitation for John will be held on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM also at the mortuary. John will be laid to rest at Anderson Cemetery in Indianapolis.
