Joseph Elder

40, of Indianapolis passed away on June 27, 2014. Joe was born in Beech Grove to the late Michael and Sherry Elder. Joe was husband to Paula and Daddy to Carter. Joe was a science teacher at Creston Middle School for over 14 years. He also volunteered much of his time to coaching children at the Baxter YMCA. He is survived by his wife; Paula, son; Carter, mother; Sherry, mother-in-law; Linda Purcell, sisters; Michele (Jeff) Spargur and Jennifer (Eric) Young, sister-in-laws; Corinna Walters and Charity Heis, Uncle; Garry Elder, Niece; Allison and nephews; AJ, Ian and Curtis. He was preceded in death by his father; Michael Elder and father-in-law; Paul Purcell. Visitation will be at Little and Sons Funeral Home Stop Eleven Chapel on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 2-8p.m. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carter Elder, Paula & Joe’s son. Checks made out to Carter Elder, may be sent to the funeral home.
