Josephine Giddens

84, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on March 15, 2016. She was born September 5, 1931 in Mountain View, MO to the late Joseph E. and Mabel “Short” Starkey. Josephine was a clerk for 21 years with the Indianapolis Public Library, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Fort Myers, FL and the Indiana Public Employees Association. She is survived by her husband: Charles “Don” Giddens, children: Donald J. (Karen) Giddens, Rebecca A. (Dan) Paetz, Jan A. (Vince) Lorenzano and daughter-in-law: Jennifer Giddens, sister: Zaheia Tedpahogo, brother: Patrick (Jean) Starkey, grandchildren: Brooke (Chris) Ryder, Ashley (Aaron) Stewart, Amanda Paetz, Zach Giddens, Dominic and Natalie Lorenzano, Drew and Nikki Giddens, and Abby and Emmy Giddens and great grandchildren: Cole Giddens and Liam and Finnigan Stewart. She is preceded in death by her son: John Giddens, her parents and her brother: Jack Starkey. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary. Funeral services will be Monday, March 21, 9:30 am in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
