Josephine R. Martin

91, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 14, 2014. She was the daughter of the late John and Freida Tomamichel. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Howard Martin along with one grandson. She is survived by son, Howard (Diane) Martin; daughters, Barbara (Noel) Becker and Jeanette (Bill) Thomas; 8 grandchildren and 4 great granddaughters. Josephine is also survived by brothers; Francis, Jerry and Larry Tomamichel and preceded 4 sisters and 5 brothers in death. Josephine was the first woman president of the Marion County Fair and the Indiana Assoc. of County and District Fairs. She devoted many years of dedicated work to the 4-H clubs of Franklin Township. She and her late husband started a work center at St. John Lutheran Church of the Lutheran Braille Workers and faithfully printed Bibles and materials for 27 years. She was a 72 year member of St. John Lutheran Church, having served on many boards and committees. Visitation will be held at Little and Sons Stop Eleven Chapel on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be at St. John Lutheran Church in Indianapolis on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at the church.
