To us she was "Sister Joyce". That's because she was the big sister and deserved respect. She was a kind and gentle soul as well as a good Christian who encouraged all her siblings to go further and reach higher. Due to her marriage to Bob and going to live in the US, she was able to send lovely birthday & Christmas gifts as well as money for the younger ones who still lived in Jamaica. She encouraged me (Errol) to further my studies and suggested Purdue University in Indianapolis. But I went another route after migrating to Canada. When I started dating Veronica seriously, I made sure to travel with her to Indianapolis to meet Sister Joyce. Later, when we got married, she, Bob and their three children came to our wedding in Montreal. They also travelled to Montreal to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of our parents (Mother J & Father J). That showed great love! We visited them in Indianapolis several times and always enjoyed our time in their home and their city. When we had children, she showed great love for them and even made the high school graduation dress for one of our daughters! We will surely miss her, but will keep her forever in our hearts.

After viewing the Celebration of Life of our dear neighbor and family friend, Joyce Perry, I wanted to also share my condolences. Mrs. Perry was a neighbor in the truest sense, sharing her love, her beautiful smiles, her delicious food and warm spirit to me, my husband and especially to my daughters, Heather and Allyson, known as baby dumpling to the Perry family. I will forever be grateful to have known her and to witness a virtuous woman move in life. May God give comfort and peace to Earnest, Bea and Jo. Love you all!

Sharing one of my favorite memories of my Great Aunts, may they both rest in peace.  What a blessing and privilege I have had for majority of my life to have Great Aunts to encourage me , love me and support me through many milestones of my life. 
To my family , Jo, Jr. and Bea, we love you and pray God’s strength, peace and comfort for you. 

Thank you to Aunt Joyce for your sweet spirit and kind words over the years.  That will forever live on in our memory.

Mrs. Perry, a true saint! From the very first day I visited the Perry’s home (over 60 years ago), Mrs. Perry welcomed me as a long list relative. I was always greeted with a smile and a hug. A very wise woman who generously shared her knowledge. To Almeta, Earnest and Joy, thank you for sharing your mom. May God’s comfort continue to strengthen you all.

May I take this opportunity to express my thoughts and send my condolences to Joyce's immediate family.

I never had the pleasure of spending lots of time with  Auntie Joyce, but my dad Mass Hugh, speaks fondly about his sister. During  conversation, he would  often, proudly reference, Joyce was knocking on the door of being a centenarian, How sad, on the eve of such a momentous occasion, we have lost a towering branch,  of our extended family.

Mrs. Joyce Perry has always been a standard bearer. A good and faithful servant. The St. Philip’s Episcopal Church family will miss her greatly.

Mama Joyce, G is what I called her. The G was a nickname we gave her because of how strong she was in every way. She would have disapproved of me selecting this picture of her without her hair being styled up. This was the last memory of many beautiful shared moments with her. Here this Summer 2025, we celebrated mama Joyce being on this earth 36,300 days. WOW, What a blessing! Just months of turning 100 years old her next birthday. This lady had class,still witty,caring, a natural beauty and could give great advice. I will definitely miss her beautiful dimple smile and spirit. Take your rest mama G. We love you always!

One of the best neighbors a family could have. My wife and family will forever remember her kindness, generosity and friendship. Truly, a God-sent woman! We wish God’s peace to her children and family!

To one of the kindest, gracious and most God fearing person that I have had the pleasure of knowing.  She was always willing to share her knowledge and love to all that knew her. I will miss all of our years of friendship that we shared.
Rest well my dear one, you have definitely earned a place in God’s kingdom!!
