

J.T. relocated to Flint, Michigan after high school, and was employed at GMC. J.T. later relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where he met his soulmate Barbara Robinson Branch at a card party. They were married in holy matrimony and have been married for 55 years. In Indianapolis J.T. was employed at Palmer Dodge Dealership and was a dedicated employee until his retirement in 2014.
J.T. was baptized at an early age. Later in life, he joined True Belief Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Tyrone Smith. J.T. found pleasure in traveling, grilling, motorcycling and spending time with family and friends.
J.T.’s most prized possession was his Goldwing motorcycle. J.T. enjoyed traveling with the Gun Slinger Motorcycle Club members.
J.T enjoyed hosting and attending family reunions. He loved detailing vehicles and could make a vehicle shine and look new like new inside and out. J.T. was a happy spirited person; whenever you saw him he would always have a toothpick in his mouth; that is why he was given the nickname “Toothpick” by his church members and “Top Cat” by his family and friends.
J.T. is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Maggie Branch; sisters, Ida Mae McKenzie, Willie Mae McDonald, Inez Cooper, and Eva Lean Patterson and brother, Alfred Branch.
J.T. leaves to cherish his memories and legacy his beloved, amazing wife Barbara Branch; children, Tracie Branch (Marty), Lenise Branch (Ricky), Tyrone Littlejohn (Cindy) all of Flint Michigan, Lesa Hill, Jerry Harwell (Patricia), Marlynn Branch all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bernice Ray (Randy), Terri Stevenson (Kimbrew), Johnny Charmers, Laureen Reser all of Memphis, Tennessee; sister, Bessie Farmer and Louise Branch; sister-in-law all of Flint Michigan and 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and many friends.
Service for J.T. will be held, 12:00 pm. Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Williams and Bluitt Funeral Home Peoples' Chapel, 5252 E 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm, all taken place at Williams and Bluitt Funeral Home. Entombment Crown Hill Cemetery.
