

Judith “Ann” (Davis) Hedderick, 74, Carmel, died Friday, May 29, 2026, at Sunrise on Old Meridian, Carmel. She was born September 14, 1951, in Coral Gables, Fl. to William E. Davis and Ella (Peterson) Davis. She married Stephen E. Hedderick on May 21, 1986, and he survives. She graduated from Miami Dade High School. She went on to earn a degree at Indiana Institute of Technology. An ambitious spirit, Ann loved working in her community. Over her lifetime, she worked at Newfields (Indianapolis Museum of Art) and Conner Prairie. She found her true passion with her love of cats, domestic and exotic, along with her husband they adopted several cats over the years from local shelters. She started working as a volunteer for the Exotic Feline Rescue Center where she later served on the Board of Directors. She would facilitate the yearly auctions that helped raise money for the exotic feline food, living quarters and medical care. She took every opportunity to teach others about these amazing animals. She knew every cat by name and could tell their story. Memories of the “Big Cats” never faded.
Survivors include her spouse Stephen Hedderick, Sister-n-law Pamela Shelby and husband Lance, Russiaville; three nephews, Jeff Wisehart and wife Betsy, Whitestown; Jeremy Shelby, Ben Shelby, Kokomo; two nieces Carla Flintoff and husband Matt, Cicero; Charity Shelby, Kokomo; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
The funeral service will be held at Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, with Minister Danny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Hill cemetery. Friends are invited to visit from 1:30PM to 2:30PM on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, immediately following are the funeral service at 2:30PM in the Gothic Chapel.
