Born on August 4, 1936, in Indianapolis, Judie was the daughter of Alfred Emil Pedersen and Marion Lou Pedersen (Cook). A proud graduate of Emmerich Manual High School, Class of 1953, she was also honored as the 1st runner-up in the Miss Flame contest during her youth.
Throughout her life, Judie held various professional roles that reflected both her work ethic and care for others. She worked as a Sales Associate in the Fine Jewelry department at L.S. Ayres, a Dental Assistant, a Certified Phlebotomist and an Ophthalmologist Assistant at I.U. Medical Center. Whether helping patients or customers, Judie brought dedication and a sharp eye for detail to every position she held, but the most important roles she played was that of a loving mother and wife.
Her passions were many. She loved crafting, never missed a good game of Euchre with her girlfriends, and cherished mushroom-hunting trips at the family cabin. A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime member of Garfield Christian Church, where her sense of community and devotion shone brightly.
Judie was known for speaking her mind, her strong will, and her unwavering commitment to her husband and children. Her love extended fiercely to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life.
She is survived by her children: Herb W. Taylor, Beth A. Lyman, and Gina M. Taylor Cromwell; grandchildren: Joshua L. Lyman (Dawn), Jamie L. Lyman Humphreys (Jeff), and Taylor A. Graham (Jordan); and great-grandchildren: Jimmy L. Lyman, Jaxon J. Humphreys, and Jaycie J. Humphreys and her sister Anita D. Hueber (Howard).
Judie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Herbert W. Taylor; her parents, Alfred and Marion Pedersen; her sister, Joyce E. Nicholson; her brother, Peder C. Pedersen; and other beloved family members including grandparents Peder and Anna Pedersen, her aunt Martha M. Pedersen and her son-in-law James L. Lyman.
