Judith Ann Williams

Judy attended Indiana Public Schools graduating from the historic Crispus Attucks High School.

Judy worked as an IPS Bus Driver then went to work for Better Indy Baby’s (BIBS) until she retired in 1992.

Judy attended Stewart Memorial C.M.E. Church as a young child and then earned the roles of an Usher and Mother of the church. She went on to later join Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in 2015. There she was appointed the roles of Mother and Titus ll.

Judy enjoyed being with family, loved playing cards, dancing in Church choir, and most of all cooking the best meals.

Judy met the love of her life, Stephen in 1965. A love that endured military deployments and led them to a beautiful marriage in April of 1985. This matrimony brought about three wonderful children: Kim, James Jr (Poo), and Gregory. She loved and adored her handsome husband and enjoyed being with him and taking care of her kids and grandkids. The love and memories they created will last a lifetime.

Judy was the nicest, meanest, most loveable woman ever. She always had an open door and arms with the biggest heart ever; forever being an anchor and support to those that needed her.

“Nah, they didn’t do that,” (referring to her kids and grandkids), “And I mean that one,” “You knew the job was dangerous when you took it,” were some of the many sayings Judy was known by.

Judy departed this earthly life on April 2, 2025, welcomed by her parents, Lillie and Otha; brother, Otha M. Taylor Jr., and grandson, Nathan T. Williams (Turk).

Left to carry on her legacy, her beloved husband, James Stephen Williams Sr.; children: Kim R. Gaines. James S. William Jr. (Deloris), and Gregory T. Williams; siblings, Robin K. Chapman (Tommy) and Timmie J. Highbaugh; 13 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

A viewing for Judith will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. A final resting place will occur Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208.
