

Julie A. Kitley (Harrison) 32, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 17, 2017 after her battle with cancer. Julie was born on June 8, 1984 to Richard and Nancy Harrison. She is survived in death by her loving husband, John Carl and 2 sons, John “Johnny “ Logan(5) and Henry Richard (4); brother, Nathan (Stephanie) Harrison, sister Mollie (Aaron) Shick. Daughter-in-law of John & Donna (Daming) Kitley, sister-in-law of Bob & Jessica (Kitley) Adams, and Weston Kitley. 2 nephews (Evan and Bobby) and 1 niece (Emily).
She attended St. Gabriel grade school and Cardinal Ritter High School. While in high school she was an active student ambassador and senior prom queen. She went on to Ball State University where she was president of education in action and earned her bachelors in elementary education and minored in family wellness and nutrition. After her graduation Julie continued on to Purdue University where she completed her master’s in education specializing in children with mild disabilities.
Julie started her teaching career at Nativity Catholic school teaching kindergarten. In 2009 during fire safety week she met her firefighter husband, John Carl Kitley. A year later on July 3, 2010 they were married at Nativity, where they are both parishioners.
Julie’s biggest dream in life was to be a mom. Julie and John Carl’s first son, John Logan, was born May 28, 2011. She stopped teaching and became a full time stay at home mom. Twenty-one months later on February 28, 2013 their second son, Henry Richard was born.
Julie enjoyed being with her family, taking mini vacations, going camping, animals, baking, trying new foods, but most of all God and teaching her little boys about life and how they can live a Christ centered life. Julie was also a proud member of MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) at Indiana Creek Christian Church.
Julie is preceded in death by her grandparents and an aunt and uncle.
Julie’s wish is for her sons to continue their catholic education by attending Nativity Catholic Schools and Roncalli High School and going to college, she asks in lieu of flowers that you contribute to their education. Please make checks payable to “John and Henry Kitley”
Visitation will be at Nativity Catholic Church on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm . Mass of Christian Burial will be at the church on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
