June Dorn

Violet "June" (Whiles) Dorn passed away from this world on Friday, January 24th, 2025. June was born January 21st, 1937, in Kingbee, Kentucky to Woodrow and Emily (nee Eastham) Whiles. The family soon moved and settled in the Jamestown, Indiana area. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. June graduated valedictorian of North Salem High School in 1955 and was quickly recruited by the Army to work at Fort Benjamin Finance Center.

She married her soulmate, Jim Dorn, on May 8th, 1955, and they settled in the Indianapolis area for the entire 65 years of marriage and beyond. Together, they adopted (2) children, Jeff and Jill.

June's service to/for her God was first in her life. She was passionate about studying and teaching the Word of God in small groups, children's bible studies, and to anyone who would listen. She loved to travel, time with her precious friends and family, and her beautiful meticulously cared for flower gardens. Her smile and Humor were contagious and enhanced everyone's lives.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Woody and Emily Whiles, her amazing little brothers, Russ and Richard Whiles, and her incredible husband Jim.

Survivors include her son Jeff Dorn of Indianapolis, IN., daughter, Jill (Jason) Farmer of Brownsburg, IN., brother Ron (Lynn) Whiles of Fort Lauderdale, FL., sister, Donna (Sam) Carter of Pittsboro, IN., grandchildren, Joscelyn (Michael) Reichel of Danville, IN. , Jacob Farmer of St. Louis, MO., and Justine Farmer of Indianapolis, IN., 4 great grandchildren, and countless other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation for V. June will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
