With heavy hearts and enduring love, we announce the passing of Karen Anne Pozdol-Smith on May 15, 2025. Karen departed this world peacefully, reunited at last with her beloved parents and welcomed into the arms of our Lord.
Karen embraced life with remarkable enthusiasm and joy. She was a Master Gardener long before her official accreditation through Purdue. Her endless and vibrant gardens bloomed abundantly in every season.
For 30 years, Karen was in the same bowling league. She cherished community and connection, which showed in everything she did, from leading the Cub and Girl Scouts, to hosting family and friends at the farm.
She learned to pilot a plane, play the piano, snow ski and perfected her recycling skills in the 80's. She always had purpose and passion. An avid golfer and enthusiastic traveler, she and Steve found great joy in combining the two, creating unforgettable memories with family and friends across the miles.
Her love for the holidays shone through in her creative decorations and handmade crafts. She enjoyed cooking, campfires, stargazing at the pond, music and dancing, especially with Steve.
Above all, Karen's spirit is grounded in love: for God, life, family, friends and for the simple beauty of the world around her. Her final wish, now fulfilled, was to reunite with her cherished parents.
Rest in joy and peace, Karen Anne, until we meet again.
