

Kayla N. Hendricks, born on April 3, 1991, to Norris and Lisa K. Hendricks, passed away on February 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and determination that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Kayla graduated from Pike High School in 2009, carrying with her a quiet determination that would define her life. She began her professional career at Wiley Publishing in 2013, where she worked until 2018. During her time there, she built lasting relationships and demonstrated a strong work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Her dedication and perseverance in the workplace reflected the same resilience she carried throughout her life.
On June 27, 2016, Kayla and Keenan welcomed their beloved daughter, Kayce Ann Hendricks, into the world. Becoming a mother was the greatest joy of Kayla’s life. Her daughter was the center of her world, her greatest blessing, and her deepest purpose. Kayla devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising and loving Kayce. She fought tirelessly to stay here for her. She refused to give up. She never stopped fighting. Every day was a testament to her strength and the boundless love she had for Kayce.
In 2021, Kayla pursued her passion in the beauty industry by becoming a certified lash technician. With unwavering determination and an entrepreneurial spirit, she became a business owner, creating a space where she helped others feel confident and beautiful. Through her work, she built not just a business, but a community—one rooted in empowerment, care, and authenticity.
Kayla loved to write, expressing her thoughts and emotions with honesty and heart. She took pride in keeping her hair and nails done, embracing her femininity and confidence with style and grace. She carried herself with quiet strength, resilience, and a caring heart that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kayla will be remembered for her unwavering determination, her loving spirit, and the courage she showed in the face of adversity. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and, most especially, in her daughter, who carries forward her light, her strength, and her love.
Kayla is preceded in death by her mother, Lisa K. Hendricks; brother, Eric M. Hendricks; and grandfather, John Smith, Sr.
Though her time here was far too short, Kayla’s impact will last forever. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. She leaves to cherish her memory Kayce Ann Hendricks, daughter; Norris Hendricks, father; Karrington Hendricks-Reddick, sister; Octavia Simon, sister; Doris Owens, grandmother; Norris and Mary Ann Hendricks, grandparents; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held at Charity Missionary Baptist Church, 3205 N Euclid Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46218, US, on March 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
