He attended East Bernstadt Colored Elementary School, and Lincoln Ridge Institute High School, near Louisville, Kentucky.
He later joined the Army as an Airborne soldier with a successful tour of duty in Vietnam. After his military duty, Kenneth returned to Indiana where he worked for International Harvester which later became Navistar.
For recreation Ken loved playing golf, and bowling and was exceptional at both. He also loved playing card games and would hum “any day now” when a player was taking too long on their hand. He enjoyed his daily dose of puzzle books while religiously watching the news or sports channel.
Kenneth passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his parents Felmer and Catherine Andrews. Brothers Harold, James, and Charles Andrews, and sister Hattie Pearcy.
He is survived by the love of his life, Kim. His brothers Richard “Bud” of London, Kentucky, Paul (Paula) of Cincinnati, Ohio. His sisters Sharon Davis of Suitland, Maryland, Brenda (Douglas) Dixon of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, and Pamela (Ralph) Vinson of Fort Washington, Maryland. Stepchildren Kenneth (Sandra) Garcia, Leila Garcia, Laurie Garcia, Katie (Sergio) De Leon, and Victoria Kearney. Many nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
