Kevin M. "Cuz" Fahey

Kevin M. "Cuz" Fahey, age 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021. Kevin was born May 10, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ellen (Mulheron) Fahey and Curtis Fahey. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Terrance Fahey, John "Pat" Fahey, Michael Fahey, and Timothy Fahey and sisters, Mary Jo Stevenson and Sheila Murphy. He was a member of Local 416 and Emerald Society. He joined the Indianapolis Fire Department in 1979 and rotated shifts and houses for a few years before settling in at Station 22. He spent most of his career at Station 22 before his retirement in 2016 and was proud to be part of "The Beast of the East." He will be remembered for his firehouse cooking and for the endless cups of coffee he would drink in the station kitchen.

Kevin is survived by his brother, Dennis Fahey; sisters, Eileen McFadden and Kathleen Fahey; sisters-in-law Jan Fahey, Jennifer Atkins, and Joyce Fahey; close friend, Dan Smith; many nieces and nephews who loved their "uncle Cuz"; and his IFD family and brothers at Station 22 where he was most at home.

A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date in June.

The family would like to thank their hospice nurse, Trina, for her care and spirit.

Cruz and I went regular at the Double Duces (22’s) together and worked the same shift. Many great memories from the fire ground and beers off-duty together. You were one great firefighter and will be missed.
