Kimberly Renea Perry inhaled her first breath of life to the joy of her parents, Hobert G. Perry Sr. and Charlene Raye Landers on May 27th, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the baby girl added to the four boys in their loving family.
Affectionately known as “Kim” to many she was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System. She attended School 71, John Marshall High School and Broad Ripple High School.
Kim had several achievements in her life, but her greatest achievement was becoming a woman of God. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Believers in Christ Tabernacle. She was a loyal member who served in various ministries over 40 years. She later moved her membership to Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member for over 22 years. She had a heart for service work and demonstrated it by serving on the Nurse Ministry. She was always willing to step in and lend a hand wherever needed to be of service to others.
Kim battled health issues as a young girl. She lost Kidney function at the age of 14 and began Hemodialysis. Kim embodied the Spirit of Resilience as she remained on Hemodialysis over 50 years. She possessed INCREDIBLE STAMINA and EMERGED as a WARRIOR strong in faith.
Kim was known as the “Queen of Dialysis” and was a TRUE INSPIRATION who made an ENOURMOUS impact on each person she encountered. She was not woman to give-up, feel sorry for herself, nor complain about her health battles. She truly had an Attitude of Gratitude for the life she was blessed with.
Kim was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in 2022, which did not deter her as she fought it with grace, dignity and bravery. She rang the bell signalizing she was cancer free on August 26, 2023. While going through cancer treatments and dialysis treatments simultaneously she encouraged everyone at DaVita Dialysis Center to keep fighting, continue praying and trust in God’s will that better days were coming.
Due to her health issues, it limited her ability to maintain employment. She worked briefly at Cub Foods as a Sample Associate and held various positions throughout her life as her health permitted.
Kim fell in love when she met her sole-mate, Timothy O’Bryant. During her health challenges and adversities, the love and passion they shared for one another kept their relationship vibrant and inspiring. Their love for Jesus Christ kept them on a solid foundation. It revealed their unwavering commitment to one another in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, keeping a vow to cherish, honor, protect, and forsaking others until death parted them.
Kim was an AWESOME woman, who was a Fighter. She had an infectious smile that lit up a room and most importantly had a heart of love for her family and friends. She was beautiful, smart, courageous and fierce. Despite all the obstacles from her life’s toughest battles she rose again and again with an unwavering Spirit of Perseverance.
As the Kidney Cancer returned in early 2024, she fiercely fought it head on while continuing with dialysis and knowing that the God, she served had given her the VICTORY. For in the end, she held her “V” up and won.
Kim exhaled her final earthly breath and inhaled the essence of glory on March 30, 2024, at the age of 64 years old. She was proceeded in death by her parents and sister, Terri Hall.
Left to cherish the memories of Kimberly’s love, laughter and legacy are her brothers: Robin Perry (Pam), Troy Landers Sr., Hobert G Perry Jr., Edward Perry; her fiancé, Timothy O’Bryant; bonus son, Dujuan O’Bryant (Rachel); nephews: Lawrence Jones, Joel Hedrick Sr. (Nakeshia), Donovan Landers, Troy Landers Jr., Robert Tucker Jr., Stanley Bellamy Jr.; nieces: Schlanda Maxwell (Cedric), Kemyea Landers, Kenntria Slayton (William), Nico Parker; special cousins from Tennessee who often drove up to visit her Sonya Morris (Danny), cousins Stephen Williams (Million-Heir) of Forney Texas; bonus parents, John and Mary Jane Norman; bonus brother, Mark Norman, her Mt.
