Lawrence Maurice Shelby, 70 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Sunday March 22, 2020. He was born on July 7, 1949 to the parents of Lawrence Reginald Shelby and Maudy Lee Shelby. In 1967 Lawrence attended school in Greensburg KY. After graduation Lawrence enlisted in the military. He fought in World War II during his time serving our Country.
Lawrence worked as a Maintenance Technician for over 30 years. He loved bowling at Hindle Lane which became a hobby for him as early as the 1980's.
Lawrence was a kind and loving man who raised his step children (Monique & Steve) as his own from a very young age. He would give the shirt off of his back as well as do anything for his grandchildren.
On April 13, 1991 at the age of 40, Lawrence married his beloved 26 year old wife Linda (Battest) Shelby in Indianapolis, IN. They were united for 28 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Linda Shelby; daughter Synthia Shelby of Greensburg, KY; daughter Monique U. Batteast of Indianapolis, IN; son Steve Houston of Indianapolis, IN and a host of extended family and his grandchildren.
