Leon Grant Edwards, Sr. was born on June 17, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Mattie Nichols and Amos Edwards. Leon Grant Edwards, Sr. was united in holy matrimony to Gertie Bledsoe and one son was born to that union, Leon Grant Edwards, Jr. After they divorced, he later married Jobina Graham and she preceded him in death. Leon Grant Edwards, Sr. retired from Wonder Bread Bakery, after working there for 32 years. He had a love for “Old School” music and he loved to sing. From time to time, he would sing at Ricks Boat Yard Restaurant. He also sang in the Men’s Choir at church. He believed that God was his Lord and Savior.
Mr. Leon Grant Edwards, Sr. departed this life on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the age of 79 years old. He leaves memories of two children, Joyce (Scott) Orkmon and Leon Grant Jr. (Patricia) Edwards. Grandchildren, Ashley, Symone, Gerald and Craigen and Ten Great-Grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
