Leroy Young, Sr.

Mr. Young, of Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at his

residence. Leroy Young Sr. was born on Jan. 4, 1931, the son of Clay Young

and Martha Harris Young in Malden, Missouri. He was a United States Army veteran, honorably discharged on Jan. 18, 1955. He was retired from Continental Steel.He was a member of Straitgate Ministries and American Legion Post 177.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Michelle R. Young, and two grandsons, Trinton Hile and Kenneth Fowler.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Young; sons, Leroy W. Young Jr., Houston, Texas, Carl L. Young Sr., Junction City, Kan., Anthony L. Young Sharon Gieger), Jerome C. Young, Houston, Texas, Martiqco L. Young; daughters, Mary Lee (David Kiser), Shirley L. King (Jerry Copeland), Tupelo, Mississippi, Martha A. Small (Cecil), Glenda L. Young, Martinea L. Young; brother, Otis McKelly (Chris), Dallas, Texas; sister, Louvenia Sanders, Chicago, Ill.; 31 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Grace Memorial C.O.G.I.C. Pastor Jack

Woodard will be the eulogist and Prophet Durale Lamont Kenner will be the officiant. Friends may call on from 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Bluitt & Son Funeral Home.
