Lewis Jeremiah Oliver

Brother Oliver received the word of God by faith and was baptized in the name of Jesus at Christ Temple Apostolic Church. Bother Oliver was a faithful member at the House of Prayer Community Church for over 10 years under the pastorate of Bishop Jesse L. Hyche and continued under the current leadership of Pastor Frederick S. Hyche.

Lewis had a pleasant personality and a great sense of humor and he loved spending time with his family and friends. Lewis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Brother Lewis Jeremiah Oliver, Sr. departed this life on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the age of 72 years. Lewis was preceded in death by son, Sheedrick Oliver and granddaughter, Sharon L. Toran.

Lewis leaves to cherish his memory, beloved wife, Betty Jean Toney Oliver; sons, Lewis J. Oliver, Jr. (Rolanda); Antoney A. Oliver and Andre’ W. Oliver; daughters; Johnnie D. Lewis; Sharon L. Perry (Jonathan) and Pamela E. Griffin (Eddie); brothers, David Oliver (Quenie) and Kenneth Oliver; sisters, Doris Kirkland (Sam); Rosa Lee Thatch (Thurman); Mary Ann Gregg (Hobart); Vernetta Phelps (Eddie) and Lillian Poole (Glen); grandchildren, Princess; Jonathan; Lewis Jr. III; Arcamie’; Bile’k; Bryce; Isaiah; Jaila; Jahryn; James; Kaprise; Myinna; Adrianna; De’andre; Andre, Jr.; Jamion; Ja’Liyah and Jordann; 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held Saturday August 25, 2012 at House of Prayer Community Church at 12:00 p.m. Calling from 10:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home.
