

Linda Kay Lewis, beloved wife and mother, was born May 19, 1944 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie to Campbell James and Vivian Jenkins Kegley. The three lived in Muncie for a few months before building a home in Indianapolis. Several years later, the family moved to a new home in Washington Township.
Linda attended North Central HS and graduated In 1962. She was an accomplished pianist and a fine singer in "Counterpoints" under Don Martin. Linda also excelled in competitive swimming, with backstroke being her speciality. She attended Indiana University as a piano major; however, after her Freshman year, she switched her major to Business.
In the summer of 1966 she met Tom Lewis while they were both attending the IU summer session. Linda was finishing her Bachelors degree and Tom was working on a Masters in Vocal Performance.They were married that December 23rd, on her late dad's 50th birthday.
She and Tom lived in Washington, IN for two years, where Tom was teaching. In 1968 they moved to Indianapolis. They built a new home in Brownsburg in 1970. She was hired at Allison Gas Turbines in 1968, where she became Executive Secretary to Mr Charles Hicks. She transitioned over to EDS shortly after Mr Hicks retired and EDS took over many GM operations.
In 1976, their son, James Richard, was born and they lived in Brownsburg until 2005 when they built in Fishers to be near Linda's son's family. Jimmy had married Amanda Mount in 2002, and they had two daughters between 2002 and 2008.
In the 80s Linda was active serving on the Youth Committee at Second Presbyterian Church and worked as a volunteer at the new Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital.
She followed Tom to several churches as he directed church choirs. Linda enjoyed singing and playing in the Bell Choirs.
Linda enjoyed following her son's Musical and Athletic events in High School and College and never missed any of her granddaughters' choir concerts and track meets.
Linda enjoyed knitting, beading, playing cards, traveling (especially with her family on vacations), and was a very good golfer. She loved 7 dogs through the years and "Bandit" and "Izzy" miss her today.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Tom Lewis, her son, James Lewis (Amanda), granddaughters Jensen Elizabeth and Isabella Kay, and her aunt Delores Keil, as well as many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, and several aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held on January 15, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home, located at 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN, 46208, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Linda will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery following the service.
