

Linda was born in Connersville, Ind. Jan. 4, 1938 to the late Charles Thomas Godesy (d. 1947) and Grace (Godsey) Henry (d. 1984). The youngest of three children, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Widau (d. 1984), and brother, Ben Godsey (d. 2013).
Linda received bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Ball State and Butler University respectively. While in undergrad, Linda was active in her sorority, Delta Zeta and was honored as Miss Muncie Beautiful in the 1950s. Following undergrad, Linda married David Stevenson Wedding of Liberty, Ind. Dec. 23, 1959. They moved to Indianapolis where they began their careers and started their family. Prior to settling in Indianapolis, Linda taught two years in Connersville followed by 30 years of teaching 7th and 8th grade language arts in Indianapolis Public Schools.
Late in her life, Linda met her companion Pericles "Perry" Tsombanis. The couple shared time together in Indianapolis and Raleigh, NC until Perry's death in November 2014.
A lover of music, Linda was a longtime member of the Johnny Mathis fan club and listened to Les Miserables on repeat. Her favorite quote from both the book and musical, "And remember, the truth that once was spoken: To love another person is to see the face of God." This, a fitting sentiment to the love she shared with her friends and family.
Linda is survived by her former husband David Stevenson Wedding; her four children Steven Edgar Wedding (MaryJo), Matthew Stevenson Wedding (Rives), Susan Mary Wedding-Holladay and Julie Ann Scott (James); 8 grandchildren Krystle Berger, Brittany Sanders, Samantha Wedding, Mary Gillian Leitner, Alex Wedding, John Wedding, Zachary Scott and Abigail Wedding; and 2 great-grandchildren David and Liam Berger. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Mark Widau, John Godsey, Steve Godsey, Karen Widau, Lynn Bratton and Dana Widau Williams.
Funeral services will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Saturday, Nov. 23 with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Linda requested gifts be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
