Lisa Simone Jones

She attended elementary school partially in Yonkers, NYin Yonkers, NY and Baumhoulder, Germany.

After returning to the states in 1977 she attended Middle School in Egan, Minnesota and Eastwood Middle School in Indianapolis, Indiana Graduating from North Central High School in 1980.

Lisa would go on to further her education at Ball State University Muncie, Indiana. She became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated for over 41 years.

During her junior year at Ball State University she joined the United States Marine Corps. After proudly serving her country she left the USMC and started her career in New York. Lisa was employed as an Administrator for a New York Publishing Company and then at Liz Claiborne also in New York.

Lisa moved back to Indianapolis and reunited with her High School sweetheart, Stephen Jones and in 1986 they were married.

She was an avid reader and a very analytical person. Lisa was a mother of one child a son, Frank (Skyler) William Miller III who was the Light of Her Life!

Lisa had a true passion for serving her community. Lisa was a PTO President at Nora Elementary School

where she was instrumental in starting the first “Taste of Nora” as a school Fundraiser.

Lisa Simone Jones was preceded in death by her father, William Howard Neal, her grandparents; Alonzo Ligon Avery and Coveleskie Dorris Avery. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother Julia Wray; Son, Frank (Skyler) Miller III; one Grandson; August Malakhi Miller – two Brothers; Chauncey Lamont Neal New Jersey and Oran Sinclair Wray (Erin) Indianapolis; Aunt, Patricia Latty Lanham

Maryland; Uncle, Derrick Avery (Barbara) Yonkers, New York and a host of cousins, family and friends.

A visitation for Lisa will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM.
