Dearest Aunt Frannie,

You were such a beacon of joy and energy and hope in our lives. You were always kind and encouraging and your personal dynamism kept me in awe. I know your spark is treasured by God and kindled in heaven with those you loved so fiercely. Kathy Donahue Chilenski

     Frannie and her sister Geri were cousins of mine.  And what fun they were!  When they were young they loved tennis and no sooner arrived at my grandmothers in the summers (Aunt Myrtle's to them) than they'd store their overnight cases, change and head to the courts in Princeton, IN to get a game in in the cool of the day. 
     Frannie was such a joy -- I will always remember her laugh!  Her eyes just sparkled when she talked.  We visited about family, gardening and travel when we were together.  She and Paul loved the visit they made to Chris and Deborah' s when they lived in Europe.  Frannie was so loving.  My husband Shawn and I will miss her like crazy.  
     Chris, Jonathan and Deborah, know our thoughts are with you.    Your mom was a treasure!   

I remember Aunt Frannie with a background of sunshine, tiny and mighty! She glowed with the spirit of her ginger coloring and was witty, salty, and knowledgeable about issues of politics and policy. She was definitely one of the fittest and most athletic of our family! I remember her trying mightily to tame and control my unruly mop of hair. I remember her laughing and discussing with Mother, Dad, and all the Mangins. I remember how much Uncle Paul adored her.  I regret not being there in her honor, but am babysitting here in St. Louis until late Sunday afternoon. God bless her amazing sons and all her friends and relatives, and may your grief be lifted through happy memories of a life lived with purpose, verve, and joy! 

My mother Beverly Puryear used to drag me every summer to the best time ever with her family. Frannie and I had a special relationship. One year she drove back to San Diego with us. She made the trip so fun. I'm sure we drove my Mother crazy. We sang songs and played games all the way. 
Sometimes I was allowed to spend the day with her and she always treated me like her own.  I  can see her playing tennis in heaven. I will miss my friend. 
We will meet again. Bloop, bloop, bloop.
