Marcia Anne (Carver) Janssen, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 7, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Leo Carver; her sisters RaeMarie and Carol, and brother Billy. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: David (Denise) Janssen, Kathy Janssen, Susie Janssen, and Cindy (Jon) Forster. Marcia is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Marcia began her working career at 20 years old as a Surgical Technician in the United States Air Force, stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois. Married in 1960, she lovingly stayed home to raise four children in Northwest Indiana. In the early 1980’s, Marcia returned to the work force in the healthcare field. She became a CMA and was a respected employee of Beverly Healthcare for over 20 years. Marcia retired in Indianapolis, IN, to be closer to her family. The most important thing to Marcia has always been her family. After retirement, she loved attending all the sports and school events of her grandchildren and famously taking them to Steak ‘n Shake. She was a wonderful cook and baker. As a night owl, TV favorites included Perry Mason, Svengoolie, and old Westerns. She was an excellent gardener, devoured Cronuts and anything lemon, and enjoyed antiquing with friends. An avid sports fan, her favorites included the Chicago Cubbies, Cleveland Indians, Indianapolis Colts, and Roger Staubach, her favorite Quarterback. In lieu of flowers, her Family has asked for donations to be made to the Indianapolis Roudebush VA Medical Center, who went above and beyond to care for her health to the very end.
