Marianela "Nela" Delaney Fox

She is survived by 4 children, Denise Hagerty, Vincent J. (Kelly) Delaney, Robert J. (Melissa) Delaney and Michael F. (Lisa) Delaney; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, John Urrutia; sisters, Germaine (Donald) Conwell and Rita (Tony) Loesch; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan B. and Charita Urrutia; husbands, Joseph M. Delaney and Harry C. Fox, Jr.; and son-in-law, Francis P. Hagerty.

Nela was a 1952 graduate of Marian College, a 1948 graduate of Howe High School and a 1944 graduate of Little Flower school where she was a longtime member of the Parish. She and her husband Joe were very active and involved in the parish and CYO for many years. They were very active at Scecina Memorial High School for many years, as well. Nela loved to travel and visited Germany, Canada, Belize, Uganda, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii and several other states. She was also an avid card player preferring euchre and bridge. Nela was a sports fan and enjoyed watching many local teams on television. She was an original and longtime Indianapolis Colts season ticket holder. She loved mentioning that Notre Dame paid tribute to her at each home game as the band formed her initials on the field.

A visitation for Nela will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 9am until 11am at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E. 13th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11am. Nela will be laid to rest at Holy Cross/St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis.
