Marie Ellen Hamilton

Marie Ellen "Mickey" Hamilton passed away May 26, 2021. She was born January 24, 1937 in Swanington, Indiana to the late Harry and Grace (Williams) Hamilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain Lee Hamilton; an infant son, Dale Rodney Hamilton; and siblings, Bill Hamilton, Larry Hamilton, Joe Hamilton, Sharon Hamilton, and Samuel Hamilton. She married Dwain in 1956 after they met when he came to repair the AC at the candy store where she worked and she noticed they had the same last name as shown on his uniform. Mickey was a licensed beautician and seamstress by trade and owned Sister Stitch with her sister, Sharon, making custom window treatments. She was very artistic and creative. Her family remembers how she would decorate, make delicious meals, and care for everyone. She spent years as a devoted caregiver to her husband and brother. Mickey had a sense of humor that brought joy to others.

Mickey is survived by her son, Lee Hamilton (Karen); daughter, Carol Brown (Larry); grandchildren, Clayton Hamilton (Terra), Mason Hamilton (Megan), Collin Brown, and Grant Brown; and great grandchildren, Leila Hamilton and Heath Hamilton.

A graveside service will be held on June 4, 2021 at 11:00 am Memorial Park Cemetery at 9350 East Washington St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. Arrangements by Little’s & Sons.
